At the heart of Gio Jewels is our founder, Mirna Vert. Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, with an ethnic background of being half-Greek and half-Armenian, Mirna comes from a lineage of jewelers that spans three generations. Her grandfather was one of the pioneering jewelers to establish a business in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. With a background in engineering, Mirna’s journey to become a jeweler was serendipitous. Being drawn to the art of salesmanship, she fell in love with assisting her clients make informed decisions, all by creating impactful, profound, and enjoyable experiences. Her path to becoming a jeweler took a decisive turn when she embarked on a retail job at a jewelry store after moving to Canada, where she attained her position as a manager. Soon after, in order to seize control of her creativity and bring her unique vision of jewelry to life, she decided to follow in her family’s footsteps by opening her own store. Today, Mirna’s dream is realized through our brand, where every piece of jewelry reflects her vision and the deep-rooted heritage she carries from her family’s legacy.
